Foot Solutions Franchisees Find the Perfect Fit
Inspired by their love of helping people and creating a greater awareness of health and wellness, husband and wife team Earl and Yuri Milligan took on the challenge of owning their own business. Taking Earl's experience in the Navy, as well as Corporate America, coupled with Yuri's public relations background, they opened a Foot Solutions franchise. The couple admits there have been a few obstacles along the way, and when asked about the biggest, they confess that it was opening the business in the midst of one of the worst recessions this country has faced. Fast forwarding three and a half years, their business is doing great, "God has kept us," says Yuri, "We have used creative advertising and hard work to improve each calendar year in sales."

Education and Community Caring are Hallmarks of Director's Career
TowneBank Norfolk director, Ulysses Turner is well known and well respected throughout the Hampton Roads community. Not only has he taught hundreds of high school students, he's also been a long-time proponent of higher education, and serves his community through both his business and his volunteerism.
Ulysses, a graduate of Norfolk State University, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Processes and taught industrial education at Ferguson High School in Newport News from 1969-1981. He completed his Industrial Education teaching certificate courses at Old Dominion University.

"Plan B" Produces Successful Cabinetry Business for Martin-Star
Martin-Star Cabinetry started as a sole-proprietor- ship in 2005. The owner, Joshua Kayer, had no formal training as a cabinet maker but loved the creative process and challenges from taking pieces of wood and turning them into functional and beautiful pieces of art. Prior to starting this business, Mr. Kayer was a member of a very successful rock band, traveling the country, and recording under Madonna's record label. He always knew he wanted to eventually settle down and have a family, and that he needed a "Plan B". His "Plan B" evolved into Martin-Star. Mr. Kayer has entrepreneurship in his blood. His great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were entrepreneurs, running Mama Kayer's bakery in Norfolk for over 100 years before selling it in 2007. Josh said that he always knew that one day he would run his own business.
